FEATURE!

I just got my copy of the latest issue of SC in the mail this afternoon and it has my feature in it!
Yay!
I was really stoked when they asked me to fo a feature using unusual photos! I had a lot of fun taking the shots and creating the layouts to go with it! I credit this feature with helping me to 'simplify' my layouts!

So thanks SC! I have just sat with a cuppa and perused my own feaure as well as the rest of the mag and it was great!

I loved Jill Geraghty-Groves article on stitching and Donna Wild's on 'being uncoventional' - Something I should try more often on my pages!

Fiona's "stroll' layout is just gorgeous and I was there with her when she created it!!

Here are a couple of the layouts that were in the feature.. My brother looks so in love with his little Sophia - doesn't he???

Cheers!

CHILDREN OF THE DROUGHT

Here are my kids playing in what is remaining of the Murray River. Hallie is in water but the twins have mud in their toes!

The photos were taken at Easter. We were in Tocumwal,NSW. Just across the Vic border - where they have only SLIGHT water restrictions! Can you believe it! I was mortified when on this day, a council worker spent 15min hosing the concrete at the local playground, which was on the banks of the LOW Murray!

My friends little boy asked his mother just the other day, "What's a sprinkler?" and Grace told her Dadda off when he washing his hands, " You are wasting water Dadda!"

Thank goodness for the recent rain. Today I am here typing this entry because Hallie's junior school sports got cancelled due to wet weather! It was very shocking, because we are so used not having to worry at all about it! Plus - a fortnight ago the ground was considered too hard for the littlies to play on!! They are actually banned from running at playtimes - because it ruined the extremely dry surface!

Children of the drought. I am going to walk my gilrs across our towns local attraction - Lake Wendouree. We hope they may never see it bone dry in their life again!

Praying for more rain still....

TAGGED!

I have been tagged by Sandie and Tash. So here goes:

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to write on their own blog about their seven things, as well as these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1. I walk the dogs around and around the same park everyday. I really should change up my routine!

2. I love fruit stick lollies and can eat a whole bag in one sitting! Naughty!

3. I have no idea how to load songs onto my IPOD. Thank god for DH!

4. I take off my sneakers without undoing the shoelaces.

5. I love photoshop and can play on it for hours...

6. I love white hot chocolate but have to have them HOT...Not lukewarm. So I ask specifically for them to be HOT - EVERYTIME I order one.. ( How Harry Met Sally Is That???? LOL!)

7. I eat raw beans in the supermarket - EVERYTIME I am there. I love them! Technically it's stealing..SHHHHHHHHHH....

Now 7 people to be tagged?? Hmmmmm... Tara, Helen J, Amanda, Julia, Fiona, Chris M, Deanne. I am naughty and haven't read many blogs lately, so I have no idea whether they have been tagged yet or not! It seem a few have so I have added Emily F, Lisa and Mel N to my list!!

Sorry it took me so long to do it ladies! Here's a fave shot from playing on PS today!

Strawberries Everywhere!

While we were away at Easter we took the girls to visit a local strawberry farm. I wasn't sure how they would cope, out picking them on the hot, cloudless day. - But they were great and it didn't take us long to pick almost a kilo! They had a ball and so did we. The strawberries were yum too!
It's nice to know they are old enough now to enjoy these type of activities. Theme parks in Queensland here we come!

FEATHER FASCINATION

For the last few months Gracie has had an absolute obsession with feathers! Big, small, fluffy, smooth, soft, speckled, black, white DIRTY....They get collected and stored in all kinds of places...My handbag is the obvious and favoured location! I am forever digging them out and tossing them away when she isn't looking! Lord help us if we visit somewhere that birds frequent - like a lake! We then have them everywhere and we are always stopping to pick then up! If she accidently lets one go and it's windy - Well then we are in BIG trouble!!
I do smile when I find them under her bed or on the floor of the car though...It's a very cute and curious obsession...We'll FLY with it while it lasts! LOL

EASTER WASH UP...

Easter is over for another year! We tripped up to Yarrawonga for the whole week after Easter. So I will upload photos and stuff as I go. The girls were very excited this year!

I think we marked a record...The earliest Easter Sunday yet. 7.00am isn't too bad though... I was in the double bed with Hallie. I watched her open her eyes...Briefly close them, open them, look at me, close them again and then it was as if someone had thrown cold water over her! She started gabbing on about the Easter bunny and when he would arrive, obviously not yet alert to the fact that it was now THAT morning...This lasted approximately 5 secs before the look of realisation flashed across her eyes. She sta bolt upright and flipped over in bed and spotted the chocolate goodies placed on the bedside table. From then on it was sheer delight! She marvelled at the ingenuity of the EB, coming into the carvan, she wondered at the time it had taken him, she woke her sisters with exclamations and informed Gran that the EB had obviously considered hre worthy as well... They all trailed around the caravan and made madly for the door when eggs were spotted lying outside.

Amid the excitment of the moment and a mother trying to coat them up against the early morning chill, many eggs were located and dumped uncerominously into the basket. It was the first year that the hunt really appealed to the twins and they relished scouring the surrounds...I really assumed they would not find the tiny ones hidden in their shoes, until much later - But no....they were the first to be consumed!

BY 7.30 the hunt was done and by lunch the collected eggs were counted...104....Less the amount already consumed...Of course......
